Piano

A piano is a musical instrument that produces sound by striking steel strings with felt hammers that immediately rebound allowing the string to continue vibrating. These vibrations are transmitted through the bridges to the soundboards, which amplifies them.

Students are taught proper technique, note reading, rhythm and music theory. Various styles of music will be incorporated into the lessons.

Voice

Students are taught both proper singing technique and a variety of song style. Students will learn correct breathing technique, diction, vowel production, tone quality and how to expressively perform a song. It is important for the student to have a well-rounded repertoire of songs. Students will learn broadway, folk, opera and art songs.

Guitar

Students are taught various styles from Standards, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Folk and Country. Students will learn about chord construction, rhythm and techniques and to acquire the basic fundamentals of playing songs. Music theory is emphasized to provide the student with opportunities to advance and improvise. Both electric and acoustic instruction is available.

Drums

The drum is a member of the percussion group of music instruments, technically classified as the membranous. Drums consist of at least one membrane, called a drumhead or drum skin, that is stretched over a shell and struck, either directly with the player's hands, or with a drumstick, to produce sound.

Students are taught proper technique, rhythm and music theory. Various styles of music will be incorporated into the lessons.

Computer Music Theory

Computer programs in theory are used to reinforce important musical concepts.
